Scissors have all sorts of uses. The finer ones such as the iris scissors are good for delicate work whereas the larger operating & bandage scissors are intended for heavier materials.

Tweezers and forceps come in all sizes and shapes. Some of very sharp tips for fine work, others blunt tips for routine grasping. Use the hemostats (locking forceps) as mini-vises or for pulling out fish hooks.
