Graduated Cylinders

Glass graduated cylinders are handy for accurate measurements of small volumes of liquid and will not cloud if exposed to materials such as concentrated NaOH, benzene, gasoline (i.e. any hydrocarbon).

Use them to calculate an object's density if you know its weight (as long as it is denser than water). One science fair project we assisted with used five 100ml cylinders to compare the volume of rising dough caused by different yeasts and temperature conditions.

	Graduated cylinders are made to ISO 4788 & are accurate to 1.0% of full scale. They are resistant to most chemicals. For really accurate work, only the top 10% should be used since a 1% error on a 100mL cylinder is equivalent to a 10% error at the 10ml line.

Glassware cannot be returned for any reason; this is for your safety and ours. It would be prohibitively expensive to test for bacteriological, chemical or radiological agents since there is no way to tell if glass has been contaminated just by looking at it. We would have to throw it away even if you claim to never have opened the package. Call first if you are unsure of what you need.
